In Northern Cyprus, a Public Police Race Took Place
Over the past weekend, the second public race among police officers was held in Northern Cyprus. The sporting event was part of the Police Week celebration, marking the 60th anniversary of the Police Organization.
The event took place in Nicosia with active participation from the public. Participants competed in three categories: a 10 km city race, a 3 km public race, and a 1 km children's race.
All three races commenced with the starting signal given by the Police Director-General, Kasim Kuni.
Thanks to enhanced safety and traffic measures implemented by the police, all three races were incident-free, and all athletes completed the race healthily and reached the finish line. Police officers greeted all athletes who crossed the finish line and presented them with participation medals.
Following the races, athletes from the Gymnastics Federation performed a gymnastics show. Additionally, a children's playground was set up on the lawn of the Police Headquarters specifically for the youngest participants of the race.
At the award ceremony for the 10 km city race, held in 11 categories, the Police Director-General Kasim Kuni and First Deputy Ali Adalier were present. Winners of the race were awarded medals and commemorative prizes.
After the award ceremony, sponsors who contributed to the race were presented with certificates of appreciation in memory of the event.
