Northern Cyprus is facing an approaching dust cloud from Africa
The Department of Meteorology of the TRNC has issued an emergency warning once again due to dust pollution affecting air quality. Fine particles carried into the region from North Africa are expected to persist in the atmosphere until the end of the week.
According to meteorologists, the "dust" warning will be in effect in the country from 12:00 noon tomorrow, July 3, until noon on Saturday, July 6.
"As particles of dust from North Africa are expected to cause air pollution in our region, citizens sensitive to dust are advised to take precautions," the department's statement said.
It is worth noting that the last dust warning in the atmosphere was in mid-June for Northern Cyprus. At that time, fine particles were also brought into the region from North Africa.
