Festive Gathering for the Elderly Held in Kalkanlı
An event dedicated to Elderly Week was held at the Kalkanlı Yaşam Evi nursing home. It was organized by the Youth Department, operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment.
The program featured live performances of Turkish classical music and Cypriot compositions, as well as a folk dance troupe performance. Gifts were also prepared for the participants.
Hüseyin Ozanoğlu, Director of the Youth Department, attended the event and thanked the nursing home management for the opportunity to host the gathering.
Elderly residents from the Lapta nursing home also joined the event along with their director.
According to Ozanoğlu, such events are held annually because showing respect and gratitude to the older generation is a vital part of youth social responsibility. Additionally, joint meetings for the elderly are planned for the future at the Lapta youth camp.
