Siberian Cold Front Approaching Northern Cyprus
The Meteorological Department of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has issued a warning that a significant drop in temperatures, frost, and even snowfall are expected by the weekend. According to weather forecasts, temperatures in Turkey are also set to decrease sharply due to a cold air mass moving in from Siberia.
The weather forecast released by the TRNC Meteorological Department predicts that from February 18 to 24, the region will experience low atmospheric pressure, leading to cold and damp conditions. Starting Thursday, Northern Cyprus will be affected by a very cold and moist air mass, with the potential for stormy winds.
Meteorologists have also forecast rain, fog, and frost starting today, with periods of strong winds.
From Thursday onwards, temperatures in Northern Cyprus are expected to drop rapidly, with thermometers potentially falling by as much as 8°C. On Saturday and Sunday, heavy rain, wet snow, and morning frost are expected in some areas.
