Preparation for filming a documentary about Kyrenia has begun
The Kyrenia Municipality has started preparing for the filming of a documentary called "Girne." The shooting of the film will begin in February 2024.
The directors of the film will be Derya and Ali Atamer. It is expected that the documentary, with a duration of about 90 minutes, will tell the history of the city through the eyes of "all the inhabitants of Kyrenia who were born in Kyrenia, immigrated to Kyrenia, and decided to live in Kyrenia."
"In the documentary, many elements will be discussed: from the traders of Kyrenia to its historical values, from the names associated with Kyrenia to its festivals. The villages of Kyrenia and the Turkish quarter will be thoroughly discussed, and the names of the people who shape the city and are captured in its memory will also be included," says the announcement of the film.
The completed documentary film is planned to be broadcast at the festival in Kyrenia in 2024.
