Temperature to Rise 3-4°C Above Normal: Weather in the TRNC on August 16

According to the Department of Meteorology of the TRNC, on Friday, August 16, the region will continue to be affected by low pressure and hot, humid air. Northern Cyprus will experience clear, slightly cloudy weather with no precipitation.

The temperature will rise 3-4°C above seasonal climate norms. The hottest weather today is expected in Nicosia, Erjan, and Geçitkale, reaching up to 40-41°C, while the northern coast will see temperatures between 32-36°C.

The wind will be moderate from the southwest. No storms are anticipated today.

Two meteorological warnings are still in effect in Northern Cyprus. The country remains at very high risk of natural fires. The level of ultraviolet radiation is also very high.

It is advised not to stay in the sun for more than 10 minutes, especially between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, without taking necessary precautions.
