Three unions hold strike today at Famagusta and İskele revenue and tax offices
Three unions — Kamu-Sen, KTAMS, and Kamu-Iş — announced a one-day strike today, January 23, 2026, at the Revenue and Tax Offices of Famagusta and İskele in Northern Cyprus.
The unions stated that the reason for the strike is a shortage of personnel, structural issues, inadequate infrastructure, and functional deficiencies in the buildings housing these offices.
Previously, on December 8, 2025, the unions held a warning strike, but according to them, the relevant ministry and administration have not yet taken measures to resolve the reported problems. Due to the lack of solutions, a full-day strike will be held today in both services.
It is also reported that at 11:00 today a press conference by the unions will take place in front of the Famagusta Revenue and Tax Office building.
For residents in Northern Cyprus, this may mean disruptions in the operation of these offices and difficulties in accessing tax and revenue services during the day of the strike.
