The murdered Russian man in Kyrenia was strangled
The Northern Cyprus Police have released the results of the autopsy on the body of 40-year-old Mikhail Kamyshanov, who was killed on Monday in Kyrenia. The examination showed that the man was strangled.
"It has been established that the Russian citizen Mikhail Kamyshanov, found dead in the İmaj Photo Studio on Ugur Mumcu Boulevard in Kyrenia, died as a result of murder. The autopsy revealed that he was killed by strangulation," said the statement from law enforcement agencies.
Recall that a gruesome crime that shocked the entire Russian-speaking community of Northern Cyprus occurred in the very center of Kyrenia on Monday, November 27.
Three individuals are already detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder. The police provided the names of the suspects: Sergei Mikhaylichenko, his wife Katerina Kotenko, and their accomplice Andrey Volkovskiy, who worked with the victim.
According to the police, Sergei Mikhaylichenko was at the crime scene on the day of the incident, then Andrey Volkovskiy arrived, closed the door, killed Mikhail Kamyshanov, and then jumped out of the window and fled.
The police also stated that they examined surveillance camera footage and saw how the murdered Mikhail Kamyshanov entered the photo studio with a bag. However, the bag could not be found after the murder.
The police also claimed to have discovered correspondence between the arrested Katerina Kotenko and her husband Sergei Mikhaylichenko.
The day before, all three suspects were brought to court. Considering the evidence obtained, the court issued a decision to arrest the detainees for the next three days for further investigation.
