Death threat via WhatsApp: police investigate incident

In Northern Cyprus, police have launched an investigation following a complaint about threats received via the WhatsApp messenger. According to law enforcement authorities, an unknown individual sent a message containing direct threats to take a life, which became grounds for an official police report.
The identity of the sender is being established, while the content of the correspondence and technical data that may assist the investigation are being examined. Police emphasize that such threats are treated as serious criminal offenses, even if they are made online.
Law enforcement officials remind the public that in the event of receiving threats via social networks or messengers, messages should be preserved and the police contacted immediately.
