Suspect arrested in Famagusta in an arms smuggling case
At the port of Gazimagusa, a 42-year-old man wanted in connection with Operation Siper was detained. He was arrested at the moment of entering Northern Cyprus through the seaport.
During the operation itself, carried out from October 31 to November 4, the police seized 19 pistols, magazines for them and 9 live rounds. The investigation established that the detainee could be connected to this shipment of weapons.
The man will be taken to court in Lefkoşa tomorrow.
The investigation continues.
