Major Drug and Weapons Seizure in Famagusta
As part of Operation "Joint Forces," police in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) conducted raids in Güvercinlik and Famagusta, uncovering a significant quantity of drugs, two firearms, and ammunition.
The operation was led by the Crime Prevention Unit of the İskele Police Department and the Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Division.
During the searches, officers confiscated:
50 grams of cannabis
75 grams of cocaine
224 MDMA (ecstasy) tablets
A cannabis cigarette mixed with tobacco
Precision scales with drug residue
In addition to the drugs, police also seized two 9mm pistols, magazines, and 65 rounds of live ammunition.
One suspect has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
