The group “Always Friends of Nature” will hold an action tomorrow in Famagusta at the Thursday market of the Famagusta municipality, distributing fabric bags free of charge from 08:00 to 09:00.

According to the organizers, the head of the group, Yusuf Şentug, stated in a written announcement that the action is being carried out with the support of the ministry and is aimed at supporting the decision to ban single-use plastic products and bags.

The organizers noted that the distribution will take place at the Perşembe Pazarı of the Famagusta municipality and called on all residents to take part. The statement emphasizes the intention to encourage the population to switch to reusable bags and to accompany the transformation process.

Quote from the head of the group Yusuf Şentug: “Erasing the traces that plastic leaves in nature, protecting our seas and soils — this is in our hands. We invite everyone to give up single-use bags and start using our durable fabric bags today. Remember: every eco-friendly step is the best gift to future generations.”

Practical benefit for residents: participants in the action will be able to receive a free reusable bag and thereby reduce the use of single-use plastic packaging in everyday life, which corresponds to the announced policy of limiting single-use plastics in Northern Cyprus.
