Second Suspect Detained in Famagusta Van Arson Case
In Famagusta, Northern Cyprus, a second suspect has been detained in connection with the arson of a parked van. This was reported by the police on February 16, 2026.
The incident occurred on January 26, 2026, around 19:00 on Kavunoğlu Street in Famagusta. In front of a residential building, unidentified individuals intentionally poured a flammable substance onto the road surface near the right side of a parked van belonging to a private individual and set it on fire.
According to the police, previously in this case, A.T. (female, 28 years old) was identified and detained. During further investigation, the wanted person M.M. (male, 32 years old) was also identified and taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
