Repair of the Geçitköy pumping station completed — water supply to the network restored
On September 10, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources announced the completion of works at the Geçitköy pumping station: water supply to the general network has been restored and is operating continuously. According to the ministry, repair and technical works were carried out under the North Cyprus Water Supply Project.
The ministry’s statement notes that the works were conducted under intensive, continuous shifts, and now the transfer of water from the pumping center has been reactivated. Specific downtime periods of the station and volumes of restored supplies were not mentioned in the release; it was emphasized that the system is operating stably and provides uninterrupted supply to the network.
For residents and businesses, this means the resumption of regular water supply without local restrictions from the Geçitköy station. The ministry recommends that if water supply issues persist, residents contact local municipal services or the relevant ministry for prompt inspection. Official announcements regarding possible works or changes in the supply schedule will be published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
