Major theft of electronic tobacco and alcohol uncovered in İskele: six detained
The İskele police detained six people in a case involving the illegal possession and theft of electronic cigarette tobacco and alcoholic beverages.
According to the police, on January 23, 2026, at around 02:30, officers from the crime prevention unit searched a vehicle used by 25-year-old M.K. Inside the car, 90 boxes of electronic tobacco were found in illegal possession. The man was detained.
Further investigation established that between October 2025 and January 22, 2026, M.K., while working as a cashier at one of İskele’s markets, together with F.Ö. (25) and A.Ö. (23), stole 160 boxes of electronic tobacco and 20 bottles of alcohol from the store by removing the goods without payment.
As part of the case, Z.F. (26), O.Ö. (25), and A.B. (21) were also detained. During searches of their residences and vehicles, police found an additional 100 boxes of electronic tobacco and 10 bottles of alcohol, which were seized as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
