In Kyrenia, the issue with access to the Ancient Harbor has been resolved
Authorities in Kyrenia have taken control of the problem regarding vehicle access to the Ancient Harbor. Police officers are monitoring the offenders.
Mayor of Kyrenia, Murat Şenkul, shared the solution to the issue on his personal social media account. The number of offenders has significantly decreased since the police began patrolling at the port entrance.
According to the mayor, the municipal police have started security patrols in the area and have begun patrolling on electric bicycles.
It is worth noting that access to the Ancient Harbor by private vehicles was restricted earlier to avoid additional discomfort for pedestrians.
"The Ancient Harbor is the apple of our eye; we will do everything necessary to keep it clean and orderly," wrote Mayor Girne.
Previously, it was reported that 24/7 street patrols began in Kyrenia on April 1st. The municipal security unit will now provide services without breaks or weekends.
For round-the-clock operational response, an office of the Municipal Security Unit has been opened at the entrance to the Ancient Harbor.
