Protest March of Five Public Sector Unions Held in Nicosia
In Nicosia, five unions representing public sector workers held a protest rally against the government.
The march was organized by:
- Kıbrıs Türk Amme Memurları Sendikası (KTAMS)
- Kıbrıs Türk Kamu Görevlileri Sendikası (KAMUSEN)
- Kamu İşçileri Sendikası (KAMU-İŞ)
- Kıbrıs Türk Öğretmenler Sendikası (KTÖS)
- Kıbrıs Türk Orta Eğitim Öğretmenler Sendikası (KTOEÖS)
The action began at the intersection of Mehmet Akif Avenue and Osman Paşa Avenue (Pronto Circle) in the Köşklüçiftlik area. Participants marched to the Prime Minister's building, chanting "Government resign."
Union leaders delivered speeches during the rally. Protesters unfurled a banner reading "No to corruption, poverty, and destruction," while also carrying black flags and torches.
Representatives of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and the Social Democracy Party (TDP) joined the rally, expressing their support for the organizers.
