In Limassol, an old cinema in the Turkish-Cypriot quarter caught fire
A major fire broke out in an old cinema in the Turkish-Cypriot quarter of Limassol. As a result of the incident, the building's ceiling collapsed completely, and a neighboring house was seriously damaged.
The fire started in the old Apollo cinema. Authorities were concerned as the fire began in a densely populated area.
Residents of the neighboring house evacuated before the firefighters arrived. Police temporarily closed nearby streets for public safety during the firefighting operation.
Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene. The flames were successfully contained approximately an hour later.
