Triathlon and Cycling Races to Take Place in Nicosia and İskele This Weekend

This weekend, Nicosia and İskele will host sporting events that include triathlon and cycling races, prompting temporary road closures in both areas.

The Cyprus Turkish Triathlon Federation will organize a triathlon event on Sunday in İskele, featuring swimming, cycling, and running. The race is scheduled to take place from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

According to the police, the cycling segment of the triathlon will be held on the road stretching from the Ötüken roundabout on the main İskele–Karpaz highway to the roundabout near the Arkın İskele Hotel. Cyclists will be escorted by police throughout the route, and all intersections and roundabouts along the way will be temporarily closed to traffic.

In a separate event, the Cyprus Turkish Cycling Federation is set to hold a cycling race in Nicosia along the Metehan–Alayköy ring road. During the event, the section between the Sevgi Roundabout and the Alayköy Roundabout will be fully closed in both directions. Traffic will be redirected via alternative routes.
