Breast Cancer Awareness Month Begins in the TRNC
From October 1 to 31, Northern Cyprus will be observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month, during which free breast cancer screenings will be available at medical centers.
The Department of Primary Health Care under the Ministry of Health announced that throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from October 1 to 31, women will be able to undergo free early detection screenings for breast cancer at various medical centers.
The Department provided the following schedule for the screenings:
- October 2: Trenyolu District Polyclinic
- October 3: Yenierenköy Medical Center
- October 7: Akdoğan Medical Center
- October 10: Maraş Medical Center
- October 15: Dr. Orhan Müderrisoglu Medical Center in İskele
- October 17: Güzelyurt Medical Center
- October 25: Geçitkale Medical Center
In addition to these screenings, brochures on breast cancer will be distributed, and women over the age of 20 will receive training on how to perform self-examinations.
On these same dates, fecal occult blood tests (FOB) and Pap smears will be conducted for specific age groups. Appointments for these screenings can be made at the Early Diagnosis Center.
