The 2025–2026 school year has begun in TRNC: around 58,000 students returned to the classrooms
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the 2025–2026 school year began on September 15, 2025. About 58,000 students and approximately 6,500 teachers started classes, with the school bell ringing at 08:00.
The Ministry of National Education (Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı) published the academic calendar: the first semester will end on January 30, 2026; mid-year holidays will take place from February 1 to 15, 2026. The second semester will begin on February 16, 2026, and the school year will conclude on June 15, 2026, with the issuance of report cards and graduation documents.
The material also notes the signing of a cooperation protocol between Eastern Mediterranean University (Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi, DAÜ) and the Turkish Language Association (Türk Dil Kurumu, TDK).
For parents, students, and teachers, these dates mean the need to plan the educational process and organize holidays according to the official academic calendar.
