Amendment to Work Permit Legislation for Foreigners Published in the TRNC
An amendment to the work permit legislation for foreigners has been published in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The new document aims to tighten controls over employers and implement stronger measures to combat illegal employment.
According to the amendment, which was published in the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Labour has been granted the authority to enter into agreements with professional organizations to improve internal monitoring and enforcement.

- Stricter procedures for issuing work permits.
- Introduction of new measures to prevent illegal employment.
- Increase in the number of government employees responsible for issuing work permits.
- Changes to the articles concerning the illegal employment status of workers and the associated penalties.
Interested parties have 20 days from the publication date to submit their written suggestions and comments on the draft law.
