Tender Opened for Operation of Güngör Landfill in TRNC
The TRNC Ministry of the Interior has launched a tender for the operation of the solid waste landfill in Güngör. The contract is valued at 43.57 million Turkish lira.
According to the Central Tender Commission’s announcement, interested parties must submit their bids to the commission’s meeting room by Wednesday, May 14.
The total estimated cost of the tender is 43,567,241 TL + VAT, with a monthly allocation of 4,840,000 TL + VAT.
Those wishing to obtain tender documents and technical specifications can do so at the Ministry of the Interior by presenting a receipt and paying 10,000 TL + VAT at the Tax Office.
Last year, the Central Tender Commission approved the privatization of the landfill through an operational rights agreement.
In the summer, the Chamber of Environmental Engineers warned that the Güngör landfill, a 30-year storage site built in 2013 with EU funding, is almost full and will soon reach capacity.
In recent years, frequent fires have been reported at the landfill.
