Residents of Northern Cyprus reminded that the state fully covers doctor-approved treatments, including expensive medications
The Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus announced that all treatments approved by the Scientific Council are fully covered by the state. The ministry emphasized that funding decisions for medical care are based on expert opinions and scientific data, not on cost-saving or budget-cutting motives.
According to the ministry, the list of free procedures and medications for patients includes costly treatments that are not reimbursed by budgets in other countries. Specifically, some types of oncology drugs are provided to patients in Northern Cyprus without additional charges.
Special attention is given to supporting patients with chronic diseases, including diabetes mellitus. Upon medical indication and specialist approval, as well as confirmation by the Scientific Council, the state provides insulin pumps and necessary consumables at public expense.
The Ministry of Health stressed that its priority is to preserve citizens’ health and ensure their access to modern treatment methods regardless of cost. All decisions are made in the interests of patients and based on the latest medical recommendations.
