Ballet evening PANAGINIP — The Dream

Cyprus will host a performance by the National Ballet Company of the Philippines (Ballet Philippines) with a program of two one-act ballets: "Legend of Love" and "The Dream". 30 dancers will perform on the stage of the Municipal Garden Theatre "Marios Tokas", presenting productions by artistic director Mikhail Martynyuk.

The evening program includes:
• "Legend of Love" (Ivatan) — a legend-ballet about a sailor and a girl from a distant island who saved him after a shipwreck. The music is inspired by the songs of fishermen from the Batanes Islands.
• "The Dream" (Panaginip) — a festive divertissement in which 12 princesses represent the regions of the Philippines. The production is inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale and represents the pure joy of movement.

Mikhail Martynyuk — Honored Artist of Russia and a graduate of the Vaganova Academy — combines strict classical technique on pointe with the vibrant plasticity of Philippine folk dance in his choreography.
