Rain, Thunderstorms, and Snowfall Continue in Cyprus on February 12
The Meteorology Department of the Republic of Cyprus reports that moderate low pressure remains over the region on Wednesday, February 12.
The morning will bring partly cloudy skies, with some areas experiencing more persistent cloud cover. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, along with snowfall in the higher mountains, mainly in the afternoon.
According to the weather forecast, daytime temperatures will reach around 14°C inland, 17°C along the coast, and 4°C in the mountains, where frost will persist in some areas.
Tonight and into the early hours of Thursday, cloud cover will increase in some areas, leading to isolated showers and possibly storms, especially along the coast. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 4°C inland, 7°C along the coast, and -2°C in the mountains, where frost will continue.
As of the latest update, the snow depth in Troodos Square stands at 12 cm, while Chionistra has recorded 9 cm.
Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to remain slightly below seasonal averages on Thursday. However, a gradual warming trend is expected on Friday and Saturday.
