26-Year-Old Woman Arrested at Larnaca Airport with Suitcase Full of Drugs
A 26-year-old woman was arrested at Larnaca Airport after arriving on the island with a suitcase packed with drugs. A search of her luggage revealed 16 kilograms of cannabis.
According to police reports, the woman landed in Cyprus from abroad on Wednesday at around 11:00 AM. Acting on intelligence provided by the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), customs officials decided to inspect her baggage.
During the search, authorities discovered 28 packages of cannabis, weighing a total of 16 kilograms and 146 grams. The drugs were seized as evidence.
The suspect was taken into custody and is currently being held. The case, involving drug importation and possession with intent to distribute, is under investigation by the Larnaca branch of the National Crime Agency.
