Irish Family Honored in Larnaca After 40 Visits
Recently in Larnaca, an Irish couple was celebrated for their exceptional dedication to vacationing at the popular Cypriot resort, having visited it 40 times. For their loyalty, they received an award from the city’s mayor and the tourism development and promotion company as part of the "Faithful Friends of Larnaca" program.
According to a statement from the municipality, Professor Peter Finn from the University of Belfast, who has made 40 trips to Larnaca with his wife, has been a devoted fan of the city for decades.
Through his work with Erasmus programs, Professor Finn has brought participants from across Europe to Larnaca at least 10 times. Since then, he and his family have visited the region annually, largely due to the strong friendships he has formed with the locals.
Professor Finn shared that he enjoys visiting Larnaca because he feels both relaxed and secure there. He also praised the warm hospitality of the locals, his love for the traditional cuisine, and his enjoyment of shopping in local stores.
Furthermore, each visit includes having his suits tailored by a local tailor. His favorite spots include the old town, especially the area around Agios Lazaros, and beyond the city, he particularly enjoys the village of Agios Theodoros.
Larnaca’s new "Welcome Back" brand highlights the city’s commitment to its returning visitors.
Previously, it was reported that four foreign couples were named "Tourism Ambassadors" for Ayia Napa in recognition of their frequent visits to the resort region.
