Christos Misos wins gold at the World Para Archery Championship in Korea
Cypriot para-athlete Christos Misos won the gold medal on Saturday at the World Para Archery Championship held in Korea.
In a statement from the Cyprus Paralympic Committee, it was noted that Misos not only maintained his first place in the world ranking but also became the world champion. In the qualifying rounds, he achieved high scores and easily advanced to the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, Misos defeated the reigning champion from Korea. In the final, he triumphed over a Belgian opponent, bringing a gold medal to Cyprus.
The Cyprus Paralympic Committee congratulated the athlete, his coach, and the Committee's technical advisor Savvas Lakeridis, as well as the Cyprus Archery Federation. The Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA) also expressed congratulations in a social media post on X, noting that the athlete remains at the top of the world ranking.
