Cyprus Celebrates Greece’s Independence Day: Event Program
On Tuesday, March 25, Cyprus celebrates Greece’s Independence Day with festive parades and ceremonies across the country.
In Nicosia, President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, the Speaker of Parliament, the Greek Ambassador, and other officials observed the student parade on Byron Avenue from the grandstand in front of the Greek Embassy. Following the parade, the Archbishop of Cyprus will lead a thanksgiving service at Panagia Faneromeni Church. Later, the President of Cyprus will attend a reception hosted by the Greek Ambassador at the embassy residence.
Celebrations and parades are also taking place in other cities across Cyprus, attended by government representatives, ministers, or their deputies. Additionally, at 7:30 PM, the President of the Republic will deliver a speech at an event marking the national anniversaries of March 25 and April 1, organized by the Doxa National Association in Strovolos.
In Greece, the March 25 celebrations will conclude with a grand military parade at Syntagma Square, attended by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.
