Cyprus participates in the European SEEDS program: schools introduce an eco-approach through art and creative learning

The European SEEDS programme, which combines nature, art and ecology into a unified educational approach, is already being successfully implemented in schools in Cyprus and Spain. The project is carried out with the participation of the Cypriot organisations Omnia and Nefeles in cooperation with the Spanish primary school CEIP Ambra, and is funded by the European Union.
SEEDS aims to develop students’ environmental awareness and creative thinking. The project is based on three key pillars:
- Eco-art,
- Eco-psychology,
- Eco-education.
Each of these modules includes detailed theoretical materials, practical activities and ready-to-use lesson plans that teachers can immediately integrate into their curriculum.
The project has already received positive feedback from teachers and students. In recent months, teachers from Cyprus have completed international training in Spain, working together with colleagues to improve the implementation of SEEDS methods in schools.
All SEEDS educational materials are available free of charge on the project’s official website.
The content is currently published in English, but Greek and Spanish versions will soon be available, expanding access for schools and educators.
The project’s authors encourage teachers to explore the materials and use them in their work, fostering environmental thinking, creativity and cooperation skills among students.
