Night Fire in Paphos: House Seriously Damaged, Woman Rescued by Neighbors
On Wednesday evening, January 7, a fire broke out in a residential house in the Paphos area. The fire service received the call at around 21:58.
According to firefighters, a single-story house built of stone and brick with a metal roof caught fire. The blaze caused significant damage to the building — rooms and structural elements were affected.
A woman was inside the house. Before firefighters arrived, neighbors managed to get her out, which helped avoid a tragedy. Later, the victim was taken to Paphos General Hospital, where she was diagnosed with smoke inhalation; the hospitalization was preventive.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. Preliminary data suggest the fire may have started accidentally; a short circuit is also not ruled out.
