Invest Cyprus held a private meeting in Washington with US investors and tech representatives, focusing on the future of foreign direct investment and Cyprus's role as a European platform for international business. The event took place on May 4 at The Westin Washington National Harbor in collaboration with fDi Intelligence and the Financial Times.

The main topic of discussion was Cyprus's advantages as a strategic gateway to the European Union for American technology companies. Roundtable participants examined the investment climate, regulation, digital policy, and prospects for expanding the tech sector on the island.

Cyprus's Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Nicodemos Damianou, participated in the discussion. He emphasized the government's intention to actively attract quality investment and strengthen the country's position as one of the region's leading technological centers.

According to Invest Cyprus representatives, interest in Cyprus from international companies continues to grow. Examples of successful industry development included the arrival of Tenstorrent, the launch of Plug and Play Tech Center, and the collaboration with NVIDIA to create a national supercomputer.

Lia Riri, Deputy Director General of Invest Cyprus, noted that many companies are looking for a European jurisdiction with a clear tax system, a stable legal environment, and state support for innovation. She stated that Cyprus strives to meet these requirements and is actively promoting itself in the American market.
