Cypriot men marry Russian and Ukrainian women, while women prefer Greeks
According to the annual data of the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the vast majority of marriages in the country are between two Cypriots. However, local men are increasingly opting for brides from Russia and Ukraine.
According to statistics, Cypriot men most often prefer Russian brides - 149 such marriages were concluded in the last year, followed by Ukrainian women - 92 unions, and Filipinas - 77 marriages. Cypriot men also marry Greek women (83 marriages) and Romanian citizens (61 unions). At the bottom of the list are women from the UK and Nepal - with 24 marriages each.
As reported by Cyprus-mail, Cypriot women mostly prefer Greek men (214 marriages), as well as Indians (46) and British (41). Unlike their male compatriots, only 13 Cypriot women married Russian men.
