The Cypriot beach Nissi has entered the top ten most environmentally sustainable beaches by TripAdvisor
The Cypriot beach Nissi has entered the top ten most environmentally sustainable beaches in the world in 2024. The rating was compiled by one of the largest travel portals, TripAdvisor.
The rating compilers took into account the presence of the Blue Flag, water quality, and provided services, including waste removal and parking spaces, as well as the level of safety for holidaymakers and traveler reviews.
As a result, Nissi beach, located in Ayia Napa, ranked sixth in the rating. The top spot in the list of the most environmentally friendly places for swimming in the world is Sandbanks beach (United Kingdom). Radhanagar (India) and another British beach, Saundersfoot, also made it into the top three.
Following are Corniche (Abu Dhabi, UAE) and Galissas (Syros Island, Greece).
Also making it to the top ten are Mellieha (Malta), Myrtos (Kefalonia Island, Greece), Playa Blanca (Canary Islands, Spain). The tenth spot is taken by Camp's Bay (South Africa).
It is also noted that the Cypriot Nissi beach received the most reviews among the beaches included in the Top 10 - 7699.
