Water pressure reduced in Larnaca: consumption dropped by 5%
In Larnaca, the implementation of a measure to reduce pressure in the water supply networks has led to a reduction in water consumption by approximately 5% in each supply zone. This was reported by the Larnaca Regional Local Government Organization (EOAL).
According to the assessment, this measure saves about 650 cubic meters of water daily. In 13 out of 15 tested networks, a decrease in actual water losses was also recorded.
The organization notes that network pressure management is an effective tool for the sustainable use of water resources.
Residents were also reminded of the need to comply with water supply regulations. Specifically, all buildings must have water storage tanks with a capacity of at least 800 liters, and in apartment buildings, pumping systems must be installed if necessary.
The authorities emphasized that reducing water pressure is part of a long-term water management strategy, rather than a temporary measure.
