In Paphos, serious traffic jams have formed on the main road leading from the Paphos–Limassol Highway junction to the village of Konia.

Roadworks, which have been ongoing here for about a month, have caused heavy congestion at almost any time of day. Multi-kilometer queues of slow-moving vehicles stretch from the traffic lights near the Electricity Authority of Cyprus building to the highway entrance towards Limassol.

The situation is particularly difficult at the roundabouts near Konia and Paphos Hospital, where traffic has become chaotic and often leads to minor accidents.

Police officers work daily at key sections of the road, attempting to regulate the flow of traffic; however, delays and jams remain a daily occurrence in the city.

Experts note that the growth in population and commercial activity in Paphos, along with large-scale reconstructions in recent years, have increased the load on the road network. In some places, existing infrastructure can no longer cope with the current volume of traffic, causing concern among local authorities.
