Man Hospitalized After Stabbing in Paphos
A serious altercation involving a knife took place in Paphos yesterday evening, resulting in a 29-year-old man being hospitalized with stab wounds.
According to the police, they received a report of the altercation involving the injured person on Monday evening. During the altercation, the asylum seeker was stabbed in the back.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police cordoned off the area and secured it, while the injured man was taken to the emergency department of Paphos Hospital.
Attending doctors found wounds on the man's back that required stitches. After receiving treatment, the man was discharged from the hospital.
The victim stated that the incident occurred following an argument with compatriots whom he resides with in the same apartment. During the altercation, he was hit with a chair, and one of the attackers then stabbed him in the back with a sharp object.
Police are investigating the case involving knife possession and inflicting bodily harm. The identity of the attacker is being determined. The scene of the incident remains under police guard as the investigation continues.
