The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus has extended the validity of temporary protection for citizens of Ukraine for one year
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus reported that based on the relevant decision of the Council of Ministers, the right to temporary protection for citizens of Ukraine who arrived on the island after the start of the conflict with Russia has been extended for one year - until March 4, 2025.
According to the clarification published on the department's website, the term of temporary protection status for holders is automatically extended by one year. Thus, for those who are already subject to temporary protection, there is no need to submit a new application to the Asylum Service or apply for a new biometric residence permit at the Department of Civil Registry and Migration.
All new applicants wishing to submit an application for temporary protection for the first time must still submit an application either online by following the corresponding link on the refugee service website at http://www.moi.gov.cy/asylum or personally visit the refugee affairs office in Nicosia.
