Dust and a barometric minimum are approaching Cyprus: Weather on January 8
According to the Meteorology Department of the Republic of Cyprus, on Monday, January 8, the region is characterized by weak low pressure. Starting from tomorrow, a barometric minimum, moving eastward from Italy, will begin to affect the region.
Today, in the first half, the weather will be mostly overcast with high cloudiness. Brief rain is expected at times due to local low clouds, especially in the west and north.
Fine dust may occasionally linger in the atmosphere. The wind will blow from the southwest to the west and inland to the northwest, ranging from weak to moderate.
According to the meteorological forecast, the daytime air temperature will rise to 21°C in the inland areas and along the coast, and to 10°C in the mountainous regions.
By evening, high cloudiness will persist, but there will be occasional increases in low and medium cloudiness, leading to rain, mainly in the western and northwestern parts of the island. Later, in the early hours, it is possible that thin fog may form in some places, especially in the east.
The air temperature will drop to approximately 8°C in the inland areas, to 13°C on the western and northern coasts, to 12°C on the rest of the coast, and to 5°C in the mountainous regions.
The air temperature will remain at the same level on Tuesday, but it will decrease on Wednesday, approaching the seasonal climatic averages by Thursday.
