Cyprus Police is searching for an escaped convict from detention
The Republic of Cyprus Police have been mobilized to search for an escaped convict from detention. The escape occurred yesterday evening.
According to local media reports, the man escaped from custody at the Lakatamia police detention facility in the suburbs of Nicosia.
Preliminary information suggests that the escaped convict is a 28-year-old Greek-Cypriot, detained in connection with a burglary case. Around 21:30, the suspect broke a window and disappeared unnoticed.
The search for the fugitive is ongoing at the moment.
Police are also investigating the circumstances under which the detainee managed to escape from the detention facility.
