Week of intensified road checks begins in Cyprus
The Cyprus Police have announced an awareness and intensified road control week.
From Monday, April 13, to Sunday, April 19, 2026, intensive road checks will take place across the island, with a particular focus on speeding.
The campaign is being conducted as part of a pan-European initiative and cooperation between the Cyprus Police and the European Roads Policing Network ROADPOL.
According to police data, excessive speed remains one of the primary causes of serious and fatal road accidents, so the main goal of the checks is accident prevention and improving road safety.
