Rain and thunderstorms expected in Cyprus with above-normal temperatures

A weak low-pressure area is affecting the weather in Cyprus; dust will be observed in parts of the atmosphere. Tonight, mainly clear weather is expected with temporary increases in cloud cover. Winds will be north-west to north-east, and in Northern Cyprus — south-east, light, around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm or slightly rough. Night temperatures will drop to 15° inland, around 18° on the coasts and 10° in the mountains.

Tomorrow will start with partly cloudy weather, gradually becoming mostly cloudy. In the afternoon, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in mountainous areas, central regions of the island and the northern part. Winds will be south-west to north-west, light to moderate, 3–4 Beaufort. The sea may again be slightly rough. Daytime maximum temperature will reach around 26° inland, about 24° on the coasts and 16° in mountainous areas.

Tomorrow evening, partly cloudy weather is expected; winds will remain north-west to north-east, and in Northern Cyprus — south-east, light, 3 Beaufort. On Saturday, temporary variable cloudiness is forecast with possible local showers mainly in the mountains. On Sunday and Monday, mostly dry weather is expected. Temperatures will remain slightly above the climatic average.
