Applications Open for Second Bi-communal EU Halloumi Working Group
The European Commission has announced the opening of applications to organize the second assembly of the unofficial working group on halloumi/hellim.
The first assembly, which had a two-year mandate, has now concluded, prompting the call for applications for the second assembly.
The working group will consist of ten members, with equal representation from both the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities.
Members should be individuals appointed to represent common interests, such as representatives from trade chambers, agricultural organizations, or dairy farms involved in halloumi/hellim production. Additionally, representatives from relevant professional groups and civil society organizations are encouraged to apply. The working group will meet periodically.
Complete information and details on the application process can be found in the Call for Applications and Technical Specification documents. Applications should be sent to: [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is October 6, 2024.
The activities of the Working Group are supported by the Program for Assistance to the Turkish-Cypriot Community, which aims to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus by promoting the economic development of the Turkish-Cypriot community.
