In Cyprus, public works worth 112 million euros are planned for 2024
According to the Department of Public Works of the Republic of Cyprus, this year the country will start implementing 18 public works projects with a total value of 112 million euros. Among them are the second phase of the Nicosia ring road, Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia, and the fencing around the energy complex in Vasilikos.
The cost of the second phase of the Nicosia ring road is 25.8 million euros, with a delivery period of two years. The first phase is already under construction.
The construction cost of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia is 10.4 million euros, and the fencing around the energy center in Vasilikos will cost 4.5 million euros.
Additionally, the budget includes 10.1 million euros for the energy modernization of the building housing the Audit Office. This project is scheduled to span two years.
Other infrastructure projects include stabilization work on the old Paphos-Limassol road (B6) near Aphrodite Rock. The project cost is 4 million euros, and the implementation period is 15 months.
Furthermore, the construction of a bridge costing two million euros, connecting the light industrial area in Tremithousa with the industrial zone in Paphos, is underway.
The construction of bicycle infrastructure linking the University of Nicosia with the city center is also planned.
Among other projects are flood prevention works in the Alambra area (old road from Nicosia to Limassol) costing 4.2 million euros, landscaping of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Kato Deftera for 6 million euros, and the repair of the existing road connecting Paphos to Polis, which will cost 3 million euros.
According to the Department of Public Works, the implementation of all 18 projects will begin this year, provided that all necessary procedures and tenders are conducted.
