Gasoline prices in Cyprus will rise in the coming days

Gasoline prices in Cyprus will increase soon due to the escalation of the Middle East conflict. In addition, authorities plan to introduce a "green tax."
The President of the Association of Gas Station Owners reported that the first fuel price increases have already occurred on the island following the start of the Iran-Israel conflict.
So far, two importers have raised prices. It is expected that other traders will soon follow their example: this should happen today or tomorrow. Also, in June, the Cyprus government plans to introduce a "green tax."
"I believe the price increase will be small and will soon stop. Currently, we observe some stabilization in world oil prices: it is around 77 dollars per barrel. The introduction of the 'green tax' on fuel will begin in June. I hope the government will reconsider and postpone it again due to the Iran-Israel conflict," said Prokopiou.
