Cyprus to Celebrate Independence Day Tomorrow: Road Closures and Traffic Changes
The Republic of Cyprus will celebrate its Independence Day, also known as Greece’s National Day, on March 25. To mark the occasion, there will be road closures, and drone flights will be prohibited. The police have issued a public notice to inform the public about these changes.
To ensure safety and manage traffic during the holiday, temporary restrictions will be in place.
Parking Restrictions: Parking will be prohibited starting at midnight on March 24 in the following areas:

The underground parking lot near the “Tsaousii” store

Nikokleus and Lefkonos streets

Near the Panagia Faneromeni Church

Konstantinou Paleologou, Omirou, and Vironos avenues

Michalaki Karaoli Street and Evagora Avenue
Traffic Restrictions:
Starting at 9:00 AM on March 25, traffic will be halted on:

Omirou Avenue (from the intersection with Egypt Street to Eleftherias Square)

Byron Avenue (from the Museum traffic light to the intersection with Griva Digeni Avenue)
Starting at 9:30 AM, traffic will be stopped along the parade route:

Byron, Omirou, and Michalaki Karaoli Avenues

Dimosthenis Severis Avenue (from the traffic light towards Grigoris Afksendiou Avenue)
Parking Areas for Parade Spectators:
Parking at Daville
Parking near the Municipal Building
Parking near the Fire Department
Parking opposite the Kolokasis archway
Changes to Public Transport Routes:
From 9:30 AM, buses from Strovolos, Lakatamia, Anthoupolis, Parissinos, Engomi, Agios Dometios, and Agios Pavlos will pick up and drop off passengers at the parking lot near the Solomos statue.
Buses from Pallouriotissa, Kaimakli, Aglantzia, Dasupoli, and Latsia will stop at Leofe Stasinos near the Kanigos Bridge.
The police strongly advise drivers to follow the instructions from law enforcement officers. Drone flights are prohibited during the holidays.
