Road Network Expansion Works Completed at Ayios Dometios Checkpoint

Nearly two weeks after the established deadline expired, modernization and road infrastructure expansion works at the Ayios Dometios checkpoint have been completed.
According to journalists who visited the site, two new control booths for vehicle inspections have already been installed, a third traffic lane has been asphalted, and a pedestrian zone has been arranged for more convenient and safer passage.
A total of seven control booths have been installed at the checkpoint. It is expected that by the end of February they will be staffed by Cyprus Police officers, after which the updated traffic scheme will begin operating fully.
