On the promenade in Limassol, a bronze statue of a girl with a seashell was installed
On the promenade in Parekklisia, near the Saint Raphael marina in Limassol, a huge bronze statue of a girl with a seashell has been installed. The sculpture, called "Seashell," was unveiled by the Limassol Tourism Board (ETAL).
The 140 cm tall sculpture symbolizes a young girl with a large seashell by her ear, listening to the sounds inside it against the backdrop of the blue sea.
The author of the sculptural composition is Cypriot sculptor Yota Ioannidou. The project's investor is Chinese businessman Alexandros Jiang, who has been living in Cyprus since 2012.
The public council sees the new monument as a tourist attraction and an Instagram-worthy spot that should attract new tourists to the region.
