Parliament did not approve funding for the camera-based fine verification system

Parliament did not approve the funding intended to ensure the operation of the so-called photoradar list — a list of drivers who received fines from traffic cameras but did not collect the notifications and therefore effectively remain “outside control”.
According to the police plan, this list was to be used at checkpoints and in police stations (and not at airports, as initially discussed) to identify offenders during checks. However, after the budget item was blocked, the mechanism cannot be implemented.
As a result, as noted in the report, some drivers captured by cameras will be able to continue moving freely (including through checkpoints), even if a fine is effectively pending but has not been fully processed.
